What feeling is worse than hopelessness and failure..?
Evangeline Rae–or commonly known as Eva by her friends–is a young woman who had just gotten her test results on her BAR exam, as you might have anticipated, she failed.
“We truly apologize, but unfortunately you have failed this exam” The online letter read.
Failed…Evangeline stared at the word, her soul feeling empty. Ever since, she spent her lonely days in her apartment.
One day, as she lay on her bed–eating Ben and Jerry’s ice cream–while scrolling through social media, she found a poster where a program is scheduled to take place next week. Participants will be taken to a quiet village amidst a dense forest where they are made to stay with them for a few days in order to understand the culture of the villagers. This program provides a great opportunity to revive both spirit and mind and retreat from the hustle-bustle of city life. Evangeline thought about the idea of signing up, and ultimately, she made the decision to go for it. She finally got up from her bed after spending 3 days in it to pack her bags. She packed all her necessitates, and when she finished, she looked into the mirror and realized how awful she looked, so she
decided to run a warm shower and ended up spending an hour sitting in the shower–knees pulled up to her chest–staring at a wall. After an hour, she got out of the shower, put on an oversized hoodie, and laid back down on her bed–buried under the covers of the only source of warmth in her cold, lonely room.
